Blueair
Blueair, best-in-class air purifiers from Sweden
What is clean air?
Even though no single global standard for clean air exists, there are many different definitions of clean air. The air quality outdoors varies depending on emissions from industries nearby, traffic exhaust and local regulation. Indoors, the air can be two to five times more polluted than the air outside according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Studies show that breathing clean air can contribute to your health and well-being. Using a Blueair air purifier that removes airborne pollutants can go a long way toward helping you breathe healthier.
The health risks of bad air
What you don’t see can actually hurt you, and air pollution is a major risk to your health. By breathing cleaner air, the World Health Organization states that you can reduce the risk of stroke, heart disease, lung cancer and respiratory diseases such as asthma. An air purifier from Blueair removes airborne pollutants and thereby greatly reduces the health effects associated with breathing bad indoor air.
The most common indoor air pollutants are combustion products, biological particles from mold, pet dander, pollen, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), lead dust and asbestos. Indoor air may also contain over 900 different types of gaseous chemicals and particulate matter smaller than 2.5 microns (PM2.5), according to The European Commission Scientific Committee on Health and Environmental Risks. Breathing in tiny, unseen pollutants puts you at risk. These pass through your lung tissue and into your bloodstream, circulating through your body and staying there.
Find out how Blueair can help your specific need
Asthma is a chronic disease that causes inflammation of the airways of the lungs. A healthy indoor environment can help you reduce asthma attacks.
Pet dander is made up of microscopic flecks of skin shed by animals with fur or feather and can cause allergies. An air purifier can help you minimize the consequences.
Dust mites are insect-like pests that live in pillows, mattresses, clothing and other soft materials. An air purifier can help trap them before they get too comfortable in your home.
In addition to its connection to cancer, tobacco smoke can worsen other serious health conditions, including respiratory infections and asthma. An air purifier can get rid of the harmful fine particles from cigarette smoke and lingering odors.
Common sources of odor in indoor environments are known as volatile organic compounds, VOCs. An air purifier is a great way to eliminate VOCs, harmful gasses and unwanted odors from your indoor environment.
Airborne bacteria and viruses cause diseases and aggravate allergy and asthma symptoms. Research shows that airflow and ventilation dramatically impact how diseases spread indoors.
Stay in control
By monitoring your indoor and outdoor air with the Blueair Friend app, you can take better control of the air you breathe as well as your health and well-being. You will know when the air around you is polluted, and when you should take action to avoid unhealthy air that may cause allergies, asthma attacks or other negative health issues. Download the app through the App Storeor Google Play.
Why Blueair?
Innovated with love in Sweden
We work hard to exceed industry standards, to create products that combine unparalleled performance, technological innovation, and a passion for Swedish design. Never satisfied, we continually strive to discover smarter clean air solutions to ensure that the air you breathe is as clean and pure as nature intended.
Blueair HEPASilent technology
Blueair HEPASilent Technology captures 99.97% of all airborne particles down to 0.1 micron in size. Its revolutionary combination of advanced filter media and an encapsulated particle-charging chamber ensures that your Blueair air purifier delivers results far superior than either mechanical or electrostatic technology alone.
Energy efficiency
By meeting the strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy, Blueair purifiers qualify for an Energy Star rating. On average it costs no more than a single light bulb to run a Blueair system continuously day and night.
Whisper silent
The world is full of noise. Some things, like cleaner air, should be enjoyed silently. When the blue light is on, your Blueair is quietly working to improve the air you breathe indoors. We not only made sure it was as quiet as possible, we even designed what little noise there is to be as pleasing as possible.
Award-winning design
Designed to fit your sense of style, the sleek Blueair unit fits seamlessly into any home or office, enhancing not only airflow but the flow of your room. Its contemporary look has earned the Excellent Swedish Design award, one of the most prestigious in the industry. View all awards
Independently certified
Blueair purifiers are independently verified by the Association of Home Appliance manufacturers (AHAM) and its Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) program, using the latest testing techniques in a third-party laboratory.
Environmentally aware
Exceptional performance with a conscience means Blueair out purifies the competition while reducing its impact on the environment. Patented filter media uses one of the most environmentally friendly polymers available, producing only water and carbon dioxide as it decomposes. Selecting steel over plastic allows the unit to be recycled without degradation of material properties or off gassing.
Revolutionary air purification
HEPASilent technology
Blueair HEPASilentTM technology unites the best in electrostatic and mechanical filtration. The revolutionary combination of advanced filter media and particle-charging ensures that Blueair air purifiers deliver results far superior than either mechanical or electrostatic technology alone. Even on the lowest setting, our Blueair air purifiers achieve a high filtration efficiency of airborne particles down to 0.1 micron in size. With results this good, we’re sure you’re going to want to experience the difference breathing cleaner, healthier air makes.
How do air purifiers work?
The filter is the heart of an air purifier, and the filter technology in a Blueair air purifier is revolutionary. Millions of ultra-thin fibers of different sizes and layers are interwoven to create our unique Blueair filter design. Locking in particles, captured particles are never released back into your home or office environment, even when filters are heavily loaded. The filters capture larger particles like pollen, dust and pet dander as well as smaller particles such as bacteria and viruses.
Environmentally friendly
Polypropylene is an environmentally responsible synthetic, which ultimately breaks down into carbon dioxide and water. A naturally antibacterial material, our filters only capture bacteria and mold from the air but never grow their own.
High performance, low maintenance
Uniquely designed to resist clogging and promote peak filtration performance, Blueair HEPASilent Technology brings high efficiency and longer lasting air flow to air purification. Replacing the filter approximately every six months is as simple as opening the lid, removing the old filter and sliding in the new one. No screws, hooks or tools needed. In under a minute, you will have a new filter in place. Plus our filters require no weekly additives or filter washing. Other filters can lose their performance in just a few months.
Reducing ozone in the air
Blueair air purifiers remove ozone from the air. Testing proves that the ozone concentration in the air released by Blueair air purifers is lower than in the incoming air. All our air purifiers comply to local and international standards for ozone emission.
