Washable Rug Care and Washing Instructions
• Wash separately in the washing machine on a gentle cycle without bleach at 30 degrees maximum.
• For Woolable 170x240 cm, we recommend a minimum capacity of 13kg.
• Make sure you use a low spin cycle if the rug has braids or fringes.
• Use a mild detergent. Do not use any fabric softener.
• Tumble dry at low temperature.
• Do NOT leave to soak, and spread out once wash is finished as colors may run or stain other parts of the product
• Avoid continuous exposure / drying in the sun.
• Don't worry if fluff appears, this is residue from the fiber produced when cutting the cotton. It's helpful to sweep gently the rug with a stiff broom in the direction of the plush for the first few days. After that, a vacuum cleaner at low setting should be used. The best though is to give it time to settle as continuous usage will reduce fluff.
• If you find a long or loose thread, cut it with scissors. Never pull the thread.
• If your rug is shedding - It's completely normal that our washable rugs have fluff because our products are completely handmade. Therefore, some of the fluff from the trimming process remains in the product.
1. Gently sweeping the rug with a stiff broom and using a vacuum cleaner at a low setting at the direction of the plush. Please be reminded that any rough handling may break down the cotton / wool fibers and produce more fluff.
2. Sweeping the rug before washing.
3. Putting the rug in the dryer at low temperature; doing this will allow the rug to maintain a soft texture and will decrease the amount of fluff.
It is important to note that the use of cleaning robots is not recommended for use on our rugs as the threads from our rugs can get caught in the brush of the robot resulting in damage.
